Psalm 23
1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Why not blame God?
No matter what happens, good or bad, God is with us always.
Many people question why God would allow such awful things to happen - if He were really with us, why would He allow us to suffer so much? Remember how God created mankind. He created human beings with a FREE WILL. That means that He lets us make our own decisions, whether they are for our benefit or not. If we did not have free will, then we would be mindless robots, and that is not what God wants, nor is it what we want. What God does want is for us to make the right decisions - the decision to love Him as our Father, and treat each other and the world with compassion.

So when someone does something wrong, when people get hurt, don't blame God. Not only is it wrong, but it is way too easy. Right now many people are looking for someone to blame over the tragedy in the U.S. Too many people, even clergymen, look to God and ask "Why?". But the evils carried out by humans beings are on us, not on Him. He tries to encourage us to see the Light, but it's up to us whether to open our eyes or not.

Look at Psalm 23 again. God is with us, through the best of times and through the worst of times. He has gotten us through countless tragedies in the past. He'll do the same with this one, if only we let Him.
